The main challenge was addressing a taboo subject without relying on provocation for its own sake.
The goal was to preserve the project’s provocative nature while ensuring that the visual and editorial language remained intentional, research-driven, and meaningful.

My process began with the question of why certain sexual fantasies and practices become culturally marked as taboo.
Rather than starting from visual provocation, I began with psychological and cultural research, focusing on the social mechanisms of shame, desire, repression, and collective judgment.

From there, the visual and editorial language was built as an extension of the research itself. The selection of texts, imagery, pacing, and visual tension was shaped by the emotional discomfort surrounding the subject, allowing the zine to move between curiosity, unease, and reflection rather than offering a single clear answer.

The final solution translated the psychological and cultural research into a bold editorial language that preserves the project’s provocative nature while remaining intentional and grounded in context.
Through carefully curated texts, visual contrasts, and a deliberately tension-driven layout, the zine creates a reading experience that moves between discomfort, curiosity, and reflection.

Rather than presenting the subject in a purely explicit way, the visual system was designed to suggest, question, and provoke thought - allowing the content and imagery to work together as a layered exploration of taboo.
